In 2008, the biggest construction project in Europe was the
London Olympic Park. Built to host the
London 2012 Games – with a budget of £9.5Bn – it transformed a derelict and polluted East London site into Europe’s most significant new urban green space with superb sports venues and sustainable housing.
The Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 (CSL) is an independent body that monitors, reports, and holds the delivery bodies accountable on the
London 2012 Games’ environmental impact and support a sustainable legacy. CSL is unique in the Olympic Games’ history as the first intermediary between the
Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and over 100 organisations and stakeholders. CSL held quarterly workshops to discover concerns from groups then report back to the ODA.
Funded by
Greater London Authority, Doublesided was commissioned to redesign the CSL website ahead of the
Olympic and Paralympic Games.
